A Path Worth Pursuing
Switching from handwriting to typing transformed more than my workflow — it reminded me how easily we cling to old identities at the expense of our present joy. Letting go opened the door to momentum, gratitude, and a writing process that finally feels free.
We Made it a Year!
A year of vanlife has taken us from chaos and overwhelm to confidence and ease. What once felt impossible has become second nature, and now, sitting miles up a backwoods trail with coffee in hand, we can’t help but wonder what else we’re capable of.
Don’t Judge a Book by Its Cover
A childhood lesson from a pop song came full circle the day I chose to take a chance on Tim. We were different in every way, yet those differences became the magic that shaped our partnership, our growth, and eventually our shared dream of writing stories together.
Expectations vs. Reality
Drafting this book has been a rollercoaster — bursts of magic followed by the humbling reread. Still, each chapter is better than the last, and sticking with the challenge is teaching us exactly what persistence can do.
A Day in Our Life
We set out to capture a normal writing day, but the weather had other plans. Life on the road rarely goes as expected, and we’re learning to embrace the pivots, trust our instincts, and find inspiration in the unexpected.
A Paradoxical Dilemma
Sharing our story has been one of the hardest parts of this journey. Going all in on a dream is tough, living in a van is tough, and writing a novel is tough, but opening up about the messy reality behind it all has challenged us more than anything. We’re learning to be vulnerable, to stay authentic, and to build a community that reflects our values.
Wisdom from the Ancient Bristlecones
On a return trip to Bishop, we found ourselves stuck on a mountainside—frustrated, exhausted, and searching for a way out. But just beyond the Ancient Bristlecone Pines, we were reminded that strength is shaped by hardship. Their quiet wisdom helped us push through, and the experience became part of our story.
Quarterly Update: Winter 2026
All in all, life is great. We’re able to go where we please and spend our time doing the thing we love most – co-writing an epic fantasy series. We’re both extremely grateful for this opportunity and we wouldn’t trade it for anything. We also know that in large part, this quest is only possible thanks to the love, support, and diverse talents of our family and friends.
Crossing the Event Horizon
What began as a small creative side quest became a life‑changing leap into the unknown. We left our jobs, sold nearly everything, and hit the road to finish the epic fantasy story that’s shaped our lives as much as we’ve shaped it.
